When Cecilia Williams from the Hillard House Inn decided to open her B&B in 2006, she knew she’d have to teach herself everything to do with digital marketing and online technology.
Cecilia explained, “our online presence is our most important marketing expenditure,” which is why she spent a great deal of time learning web marketing best practices by watching educational webinars, reading “how-to” articles and staying ahead of the latest trends.
Her goals? To debunk myths travel shoppers may have about B&Bs and showcase the modern elements of their comfy and cozy B&B with a visual website that would entice travel shoppers to come and stay.
She described how she overcame her biggest marketing challenges and the results she’s seen to date (such as an increase in bookings from business travelers just three months after going live with her new website) in our recent webinar “How to Improve Your B&B Website and Drive More Bookings” also featuring former innkeeper and now digital marketing consultant, Mark Hayward.
