Sometimes I feel like browsing the web is like traveling to faraway countries – there are so many websites to visit and so many new things to discover. You start on one page thinking about shopping on 5th Avenue, and then find yourself hours later browsing for a beachfront property in Costa Rica – when you had no intention of traveling there at all!
That’s the power of the web, and effective websites – they inspire us and compel us to have these new experiences.
That’s what I discussed during our webinar last week on web marketing with Joshua Johnson, Digital Media Producer (or as I like to call him, a superstar storyteller), and Lori Fitzgerald, Director of Marketing & Brand Management at High Peaks Resort.
During the webinar, they explained the most important aspects of web marketing such as:
- Why you should be true to your hotel’s personality – your DNA (unique to you!)
- Immersing travelers in your hotel with video (especially on your homepage)
- The importance of compelling imagery and great design
- How to make the most of your hotel’s location and draw guests in (including the million-dollar question: should you include real people in your hotel’s photos?)
Judging by all the questions we received throughout, it was definitely a hot topic for today’s hotel marketers.
If you couldn’t attend, you can catch up and learn how to improve your web presence by watching the recording or viewing the slides from the presentation.
