Are you ready for your cover shot?
At its first ever marketing conference on February 29, Facebook announced sweeping changes to its platform that have direct bearing on businesses. Timeline for business pages was one of the most important and most talked about.
As I explained in a previous blog post, we will be enhancing our VBrochure Ultra Premium Facebook Apps Suite to take advantage of these changes. There are a number of features that can maximize the impact and engagement levels on your Facebook business pages. Here’s a look at two of them.
This new enhancement is bringing more focus and attention to visuals. The cover photo is like a large billboard and presents an extremely high impact branding opportunity as it is the first thing people see when they visit your page.
Use your cover photo like a billboard. Choose a unique photo and change it as often as you like. Think beyond a logo or exterior shot. This is a great opportunity to unleash your creativity and showcase popular features of your hotel, people enjoying their stay at your hotel or some other type of brand representation.
Gone are the 180×540 pixel profile banners. Profile images are now inset in the lower left-hand corner and are reduced to 180×180 pixel dimensions. Use your logo, brand logo or another image that represents your hotel.
As you can see, Facebook has pushed photos and visuals to the forefront with Timeline. So much so, that Facebook won’t even let you move the photos app from the first position with the new Facebook Timeline for business pages.
