An Online Presence Fit for a Freshly Renovated Hotel – Holiday Inn Virginia Beach Norfolk Hotel and Conference Center
The Holiday Inn Virginia Beach Norfolk Hotel and Conference Center offers an upscale experience and a central location 12 miles from the beaches of Virginia, five miles from Norfolk airport and 10 miles from downtown Norfolk, VA. The hotel recently underwent a $13 million renovation, so did their online presence (but with a much lower price tag).
Michelle Bryne, Corporate Revenue Manager, Holiday Inn Virginia Beach Norfolk Hotel and Conference Center hopes to steer away from the typecast of a “typical” Holiday Inn property and change the perceptions of future guests, “getting pictures, virtual tours and descriptions out to as many channels as possible is the only way we are going to achieve that,” she says.
Nothing would show their fresh, new look off online better than visuals. They chose VBrochure to display visuals on their vanity site and syndicate them across the Internet.
Since IHG uses the VPowered Multi-Media viewer to display visual content on holidayinn.com, travel shoppers get the same experience on the Holiday Inn brand site.
One feature of VBrochure that Bryne really values is the ability to make near real-time updates to their VPowered Multi-Media Viewer by logging in to the property’s VScape account. “I really like that I can access our account, add new photos, rich media, text descriptions and pull reports any time of day.” This helps keep their online presence fresh all the time.
They can also track the number of views their media is getting online. In just a couple of months they have already had thousands of virtual tour views across all channels that display their VPowered Multi-Media Viewer. This shows just how much travel shoppers want to see rich media.
Does a fresh new look pay off? When we asked Bryne if she has seen an increase in bookings since launching VBrochure, she said “Yes, we have seen an increase in bookings. In addition to VBrochure, we have stepped up our online activity with an independent website, increased presence on third party channels and social media. I think the combination of this effort has helped us achieve our online sales success.”
